I posted this on the MH forum but only got 2 replies (if you two are here, thanks! just looking for some more input) I appreciate any advice.
I've worked out off and on (mostly off

) for several years. After finally getting motivated to start again by beginning a path to a career in the fire service and then waiting out a couple of injuries, I'm starting next week. I'm 26, about 6'4", 225 lb and about 22% bf. I need to build strength and endurance and also size (for my vanity).
Here's my plan:
Mon:AM HIIT - PM HST
Tue:AM HIIT - PM walk/jog (build up to run) 1.5-2mi. & yoga for flexibility and balance
Wed:Same as Mon.
Thu:Same as Tue.
Fri:Same as Mon.
Sat:Same as Tue. (maybe leave out HIIT)
Sun: Off
I realize that HST is better suited for size than strength but I want to try to add muscle mass first to aid in calorie burn. After a cycle of that I will switch to something more strength-focused. I was considering Chad Waterbury's "Backward Training" from the new issue of Men's Fitness, unless I find something I like better between now and then.
I'm basically following the Abs diet guidelines. I try to eat pretty clean, about 6 times a day.
So what do you think?
