Any suggestions for where I can buy a bench and some free weights for a really good price?

have you tried looking in the classifieds in your local paper? Usually you can find some stuff in there for cheap that is used and people just gave up on it. I'd give it a shot if I were you. Good luck!

Here's a relatively cheap bench: Golds Gym Olympic Weight Bench

You can go to Dick's or Sports Authority or the like and get a 300 lb weight olympic weight set for like $100-120 or you can get a standard 110 lb one for like 40-60 bucks. Either or. I started with the standard and moved up to olympic. The bench supports either one. Overall, my original set up cost me like $150. I've spent like $230 in a year and a half on my set-up so you can keep it cheap.

I got most of my stuff from the classifieds. Some people who are moving or clearing out stuff they will never use will almost give them away. Last year I bought six 45 pound plates for $40 ...after talking them down from $60.

Now I just gotta get strong enough to use them all at the same time...
