I hate coming up with subject headings
Anyway, I've been lurking for quite some duration of time, but for some reason have been too lazy to go through the whole 45 second process of registering, so now I'm actually going to contribute something (granted, I'm contributing a *problem*, but at least it's something). Some (perhaps none) may remember me as NUsnyds from the ol' MH boards a while back, in the days prior to the 'penis lines' discussion, though I was privy to witnessing that.
Well, for starters, I'm going to sum up this semi-complicated situation; I've been in NJ for a training program (.NET and C# if that means anything to anyone), though before this I was living with my parents in Hilton Head Island, SC (hey, I'm not complaining about that part) after graduating from college near Chicago. Now, I have a job that is near where I am now in NJ, but I need to spend a week going back to SC to get a bunch of stuff (and my cat).
Now this does relate to working out, that was just background made more confusing to read by random parenthetical commentary...As of Friday I will be finished with Phase 3 of HGM, and next week is my last week before heading to SC. I plan on taking a week break, though 'when' is the question up for debate. I see three possibilities:
1) Do 1st week of Phase 4 next week, take a week break while in SC, then finish remaining weeks
2) Do first 2 weeks of Phase 4, take a week of during my first week of work, then finish the phase
3) Do another week of Phase 3, take a week off while in SC, then start Phase 4
What do you guys/gals think of this? I don't mind going to the gym while down in SC, but on the other hand, taking a week off during the first week of work may not be good because I may be excited about being in a new place and a little wound up to sleep, which a hard workout would take care of.

Take the week off. Changes=stress. After three phases of HGM, a week off is called for, particularly given the circumstances.
Stretch a bit a couple of times if anything. Go for a walk or two to get some sense of the place and check out honeys.

I would do option 3+. Do a bodyweight workout a few times (situps, pullups, pushups, sprints) while you're in Hilton Head and take the first week off when you start work. This will give you some rest time and allow for you to get into a groove at work and not stress over when you're going to get to the gym.
I wouldn't get too intense while in Hilton Head (enjoy the beach!!), but I know how hard it is to take time off from the gym.
BTW, you should get up to Charleston for a day. It's a great place.

Funny you should mention Charleston, I have a couple friends there from college, and was debating stopping by. With all the time I've spent in HH (I gradtuated last June, and then stayed down there from August through the end of March), I haven't really been up there. If I have time, I'll go check it out again, as I've heard nothing but good things about the place (and lots of women, possibly more women than men )
Also, eastcoastsurfer, which week off were you talking about? Were you suggesting a total of pretty much 2 weeks off, where I do another week of Phase 3 next week, then do a light workout in SC and then a week off after moving? I know I'm not the only one that would get a little eager to press on into the next Phase.
Chris, a week off is definitely happening; were you implying by 'change=stress' that I should take the first week off of the gym when I start work?
As an additional piece of information, this is not my first week break since starting HGM; This week is week 9 since my last week-break.

Yea, I was more or less suggesting a total of 2 weeks off. I know that can be tough for any determined person, so I thought some general fitness stuff would be enough to scratch your gym itch while you're on vacation and starting work. Of course if your job falls right in line and everything gets started perfectly you probably wouldn't have any problem getting into the gym your first week while working.

Not possible, more like a fact. I went to the College of Charleston, and while I was there the ratio was near 7:1 girls/guys. The secret has since gotten out, so now I think the ratio is down to around 3-4:1.

Perhaps that explains why all the people I know in Charleston are women
