Hello everyone.
I would like you all to post their ideas for homemade dragging sleds (140+ is kind of alot for no reason.) So far, I have these two:

-The tire, filled with a piece of plywood
-Wheelbarow, break down the wheels/handles

Well that's not much! The least costly would be to get a used tire from someone you know. Going into garage sales you could also find wheelbarrows for cheap. Anyone made themselves an original sled and would like to share?

Have a good night you all!

I know Nate (Rev) made his out of an old tire. He should be helpful with this

you can get a brand new wheel barrow for 20 bucks at home cheapo or lowes. Pick up a big eye bolt, drill a hole in the barrow and bolt it up, ready to drag.

Any auto shop/dealer in your town will give you all the tires you want...

I had to get this one on back order and she wasn't cheap either...

Seriously though I found an old tire in the back of a barn and old rope in the machine shop next door. Then I proceeded to tie a knot, put the rope around my body, and take off running. It works well, a little too well.

Right now I'm using it for GPP and I'm getting ready to throw cinder blocks in the middle and take off. Hope this helps,

Nate

The guys I train with have an awesome one. They just took a 4x4, but metal corner brackets on it so that its not just wood scraping and attached two pipes to the top. It can hold hundreds of lbs and is super simple and easily portable.

Danny: I've got some extra 6x6 laying around. What way does the sled/lumber face when being dragged? Where/how is the rope attached?

Hehe Rev, nice stuff. I'll try to make one too, and I might post back some pictures if I decide to 'customize' it!

Looks pretty good Danny, I'd like you to develop more, like Chris stated, if you please!

My dad took a big metal plate and welded 4 bolts to it and a ubolt on the front. I made a box out of some boards that attaches to the bolts. It weighs like 80lbs empty. Pretty sweet.
