I am a beach volleyball player, so I spend my summer living the life of a gypsy. Only I don't pull in enough victories to give up my real job for the summer, so I have to get back to the office during the week. This puts me on the road 6 to 10 hours every Friday night/Saturday morning and that time again Sunday night. This for an all day Saturday tournament which is often double elimination requiring top performance first thing in the morning.
So my question is, are there any tip any of you guys have for traveling long hours the night before a competition? Or the morning of a competition when you arrive just before it starts? Pre or Post drive light workouts and stretching or during trip stops to stretch or run.
Other than not having to travel at all, what would be the most ideal things to do when treveling?
