So I've been doing crunches lately to get my stomach in shape, ive always been a rather skinny kid from playing soccer, but after entering school, packed on a little bit of flab. Ive been working out heavily for about 7 months now and I have recently been working my abs, about 300 crunches a night. IT didnt take long to reshape and sculpt my ab muscles (i can feel their definition) but I am having trouble getting rid of the little bit of flab covering over the muscle!

Should I run to get rid of this flab?

Will running hamper the gains in my other muscles (ie. cause me to lose muscle weight in other areas)

any suggestions?

ps. I notice the lowest two muscles of my "six pack" region are having most trouble sculpting and shaping, any reason?

Maybe more important than cardio, would be your diet. Making sure you have a good ratio of your Macro nutrients (Protein, Carbs, Fat). I prefer 40% Protein/30% Carbs/30% Fat. The %'s are of your total daily caloric intake. Also important is making sure you are expending more calories per day than you are consuming = loss of body weight (hopefully fat). I could go much further, but hopefully this helps.

If you are concerned with losing muscle weight in other areas, then you should also include some weight training into your schedule.
