So recently I walked into my local GNC looking to buy the usual Properformance Mega isolate protein powder. The worker sold me on a different product called Countdown (Link to Countdown Post-workout drink ), which is supposed to do a better job at increasing protein synthesis and other stuff. One serving of this, however, only supplies 14g of protein. The protein isolate drink I used to use supplied a whopping 50g! I know there must be a limit to how much protein your body can process in such an amount of time, until the rest is just wasted, but is 14g not enough? I've been trying to keep to my daily protein goal of about 150 - 180g, with high protein/low fat foods like Tuna, cottage cheese, etc. I'm also thinking that timing is also pretty important too? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I bet Countdown has more servings than the Properformance Mega isolate protein powder. I’m always leery of the advice the GNC employees give. I can’t believe they did not try to talk you into buying one of their fine GNC products. As far as how much protein your body can absorb there is somewhat of a debate about that.

Check this thread out, you may have already read this since it is so recent, If you haven’t it is interesting.
