I thought the title will catch your attention.

What, I mean is unless your a pro athlete, pro bodybuilder, actor/actress or anyonelse that gets paid too look good or preform better.

Don't get stress over fitness and / or how you look. Who cares about how much you lift. Or how you look (unless you are unhappy about the way you look then change it), otherwise who gives a flying !@!@!.

We should be lifting for our health and to function better in society not for the beach.

I'll rather live till 100 then have the biggest arms or chest.

Who cares if you miss a week or two in the gym. So, what just get back on track the next week.
I am tierd of people wining about miss the gym because of an injury. Or why are they do not see the result from their lifting.

Bottom line of is that you lift for you and no onelse. Because no onelse gives a damn...

Believe me everyone that knows me here I love fitness. I am not talking about that.

I am talking about over obsessive behavior with fitness.

Sorry for the ranting.

I disagree for a few reasons.
being fit is about health for most people but putting gym time a high priority is something that is important for someone who wants to make big and constent improvements with their body. whether you train for yourself or you are paid to train hard either way for the majority of people fitness is something that has to important enough in their lives for them to be on top of what they eat and how they preform in the gym if they want to maximise their improvements. Personally I wouldn't pay the money I do or spend the time I do on fitness unless I was ready to make a real commitment to it. Why? Because thats a hell of a lot of money and time spent on something to get "average" or less the "average" results.

I agree you should train hard for you but why do most people complain about training and dieting.
Thats what I am ranting about not you vandamme. You problem love to train a take it more serious then others.

I know I had cancer for crying out loud I know how important fitness is.

But, there's more to life then lifting weights for numbers and looks. Thats what I am ranting about not about higher prority in fitness.

Let, me say it again we should be concentrating more on the Health and Wellness aspect of fitness. Not on numbers or how we look.

Fitone,
I agree with you about too many people obsessing over their looks. Those cover models are paid to look like that and it isn't easy. Most of the models don't train their legs because they need to make sure they look right in pants for certain adds. I am in my 40's and functional strength is high on my list of priorities. Muscles can look good without being strong, but how does that help you in everyday life. I do care what I lift, because it is a challenge to do more and their is great satisfaction in setting a PR. I never obsess about missing days, because this is a lifelong program and a few weeks or days don't matter much in the scheme of things. I believe you should always strive to improve, but a sense of perspective should be included in choosing your goals.
