I'll make it short guys, I'm on my 5th week of HST and I love it. However, the more I read posts and the HST article the more confused I get. So can someone answer this one question: How many exercises should you perform per every workout? 9, 10, 11, 12 ......

I currently have 9 exercises per workout which alternate every other workout. However, on the 1st HST 10 rep routine sample, the article list 14 exercises. I'm confused??????

I'm getting my second 8 wk program ready but I want to have a clear understanding of it all. Your advice is much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I've seen people with only five lifts and some with 15. I don't think it matters that much as long as your hitting all your major muscle groups somehow. That could be with fewer compound movements, more isoltaion lifts, or a combo of both(what I'm doing). BTW, if your getting results then stick with what your doing.

HST is more of a methodology rather than a set routine. Stick to the weight progression for each session and the 15, 10 & 5 rep principle and ensure a total body workout and the results shoud be there

When setting up your routine you should keep in mind that it should take you no longer than 1 hour to get through the routine for a particular day. I think this can be applied to just about any routine type.

1. Focus more on compound lifst.
2. It's better to do less than 12 types of workouts in a session. Too many will do no good to ur CNS recovery.
