I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to make my biceps and triceps bigger...

Ive tried many things, but i cant get them to grow...im only 14(turning 15 in a few months), but my biceps are a little bit under 12 inches...anyone have tips?...also, does anyone know how to make your veins more visible?

Well, many would say do chin-ups (overhand, underhand, neutral grip, and even mixed grip {one overhand, one underhand}, and dips. I'd say you can't do wrong with that.

Eat enough, including/particularly protein, so your muscles have something to grow with.

Don't overtrain. Three times a week is plenty. Rest enough. Muscles grow during recovery/rest, not during exercise.

Regarding veins, I think they are largely genetic. However, if you develop more muscle and stay lean enough, I would think veins might get more visible. You like that look, eh?

Good luck!

Doug,
If I could go back in time and change anything it would be my desire at 14 to pack on mass in my arms, and I would do nothing but foundation work. First of all, that WILL make your arms - and the rest of your body - bigger. Don't fret the veins either. You've been looking at too many fitness models. When you follow your program for a few years and keep your bodyfat low they will be visible, but don't obssess on it. All you should be worried about at your age is that your form is impeccable. You will develop at your own rate. If there are a few guys your age bigger than you right now it isn't because of any magic workout routine they are on. Follow a horse home and you will find horse parents. I was a late bloomer and I spent the next few years after that overcompensating, pushing my body way too hard, and inevitably injuring myself to the point that I needed multiple shoulder surgeries.

Sorry to sound so preachy. I just want to help you out and hopefully keep you from making some of my same mistakes. I wish I had had a resource like this when I was your age. God, do I sound OLD!

JP: I wanted to say what you said; but, I didn't want to sound old and preachy.

Doug: Listen to JP!

Hey, I'll be trying to pass -- scratch that -- actually passing my master's exam sometime in, perhaps, the next couple of years. I'll be on the other side of 45 by then. No way I'm old!
