I dug up some stats on the youth training market. While I don't think that money should be your primary motivation for helping anyone suceed in fitness... You need to pay some bills!!!

If you have an expertise in a particular section of the fitness industry, you can make a great living within that paradigm exclusively.

Here's what the experts say about the industry of kids and fitness...

'As many trainers are now discovering, youth fitness is destined to become the fastest-growing segment of our industry... Countless studies show that children today are in worse shape than in any other time in recent history. In a recent USA Today article, Dr. Gerald Berenson from the Tulane School of Public Health stated that children tracked from 1984 to 1992 gained more weight, were bigger around and had higher cholesterol and triglyceride levels than kids followed from 1973 to 1981. In the same article, Dr. Hugh D. Allen from Columbia Children's Hospital stated that 30 million of the 80 million kids alive today in the USA will die of heart disease as adults, unless current trends change.'

This is directly from the International Sport Science Association website -

While those stats are scary and ominous, they also demonstrate what kind of living you could make by specializing in youth fitness... and no, training kids IS NOT LIKE TRAINING ADULTS! There are particular sciences associated with development and proper exercise prescription.

JP created a YOUTH TRAINING DISCUSSION forum on this site... Get down there and post some stuff, learn a little and make some money in the fastest growing section of our industry!
