Default New "Exercise" idea....bear with me!

OK, I can't be the only one who has done this. But, I've never seen reference this anything like this anywhere.

I will often get into the "Captians Chair" or hanging leg raise station (whatever you want to call it) and hold my back straight with my shoulders and scapula pressed down as far as possible. So, I'm raising myself up as high as I can. Then i just hold it there for time. Sort of like a "plank" for your upper back and shoulders.

I'm assuming that this helps to strengthen the scaps, rhomboids, etc. Also, I feel like it helps to add a little traction to the spine. I feel like it helps. But, It could totally be a placebo effect.

Anyone else do this? Or even heard of this? Am I totally out of my mind?

only done it at the bottom, never at the top. also hang from wide grip pull-up bars with my arms at right angles.

don't wanna comment on your sanity until i'm more certain of mine.

I see it as a side benefit of my doing lots of leg and knee raises. I notice that it is good for people with less upper body strength. Some of my clients can do the raises but have trouble staying in the position. For them, just holding the position for a few seconds after the raises is good.
