Hey guys, I just finished last workout of Super Strength - nice to have it finished.

My gains were not what they were the first time I did the program in 2003 - a few reasons - one, work-related stress interefered with my concentration/rest, two, didn't max out on my diet to support bigger gains.

The other thing I did wrong was doing all of the optional sets in Phase 4 - today, I skipped those sets and feel very fresh and positive. I may do workout A of Phase 4 one more time, skipping the optional sets, before moving on to the Armstrong Pullup Program.

Nicely done. Can you list your strength gains on the big compound lifts? That would be cool to see gains in squat, bench, pull-up, deads, etc.

Great Job. Nothing like finshing a program and seeing the improvements.

I assume you would recomment this as you have done it twice.

The program is only upper body, so I did one day/week on lower body - at the age of 41, I have discovered my body doesn't react well to 4 day/week programs anymore.

The major strength measurements from Phase 4 would be bench press, seated military press, preacher curls on EZ, and weighted pullups. I didn't measure any maxes before I started, so I can't really list any specific gains. On weighted pullups I did a wave of +30 (4 reps), +35 (3 reps) and +40 (2 reps), an eccentric set of 4 with 60 lbs, and a body-weight set after all that of 10 reps - this is a big deal for me, because I've decided to prioritize pullups, which is why I'm doing the Armstrong next.

I'd definitely recommend the program if you've never done it - I don't think I'll do it again, though. Twice is enough.
