Does anyone else do dips with weights and if so does it help your bench max?

I do quite a bit of dips, (bodyweighted, vested etc.). I actually consider dips a decline bench more than a conventional bench.

I do dips with weights. I am only using 20 pounds but I think they are helping me in other areas.

If your shoulders can handle it without getting injured, it would logically follow that it would help with your bench as it targets the triceps, which play a major role in a strong bench.

I have been doing dips for a few years now. While I was deployed last year I was able to get my dips up to 3 45lb plates. I was able to get my bench up to 365 using that method. My method if anyone wants to follow it will help out alot with both your chest and triceps. I would on a chest and tri day do 3 sets of 25 no weight dips. Followed by 1 set of 15 with 45lbs, 1s of 10 with 90lbs, 1s of 5 w/135. Then finish up with 25 n/w dips. Adjust the weight to what you can handle but I can assure you results will follow.

At first I was reading this and said, 3 reps with 45, that's pretty good....Then I saw your bench was 365. Something tells me your a BIG guy.

how much do you weight Pacman? I'll bet 260-300lbs.

And WELCOME to the club!

He is choking it down, so far he has taken one sip, it will sit there for awhile, I will let you all know if he drinks it. This is a daily ritual for us!! And yes I am psychic-I predict that pacmans shake will sit there for the rest of the day (lol)!! I also predict-a new dueshbag nominee.

Warm shake=crap taste. I pound them down before they have a chance to get even slightly warm.

My lifting partner cracks me up...He will come over with a warm shake that he mixed 5 hours prior and also choke it down. sick dude... He returns from FL tomorrow. Can't wait to lift again with someone. Home gym is getting pretty quiet.

Dips with 115...thats just awesome~
