I recieved this book yesterday in the mail via amazon.com and i am very pleased. I wish i couldve gone to the retreat to meet Dr. Berardi himself and have him analyze my posture. My question is in the book i do not understand clearly the test to see if you are an ectomorph or other body type. Here are my pictures new ones are at the bottom does everyone think im ectomorph or what. http://client.webshots.com/album/257548546dSdOuJ
And the thing on muscle fiber tests confuses me because i have a huge vertical I'm 5'6" and almost get rim on 10 ft bball net. But I also run a sub 6 mile. But I am not the quickest sprinter.

I just read and did the tests last night. Did you do the torso ratio and shoulder to hip measurements? You have to use all the different resources in the book to figure it out. My shoulder to hip ration was in the not optimal for holding lots of muscle. I have to do the vertical test. The vertical was to see if your body uses the Type IIb fast twitch fibres or the the slow twitch fibres. I don't know if people would consider me scrawny at 6'1" 190, but I think I am and I don't gain muscle that quick, so that is why I got the book. It also says that most people are a combo of body types, you could be an ecto/meso.

hey, i flipped through this book the other day at border's and i got a quick question for someone who doesn't mind looking it up for me.
the test on the vertical jump estimating whether you are more Type I or type II fibered, what were the ranges in that?
thanks in advance and sorry if i hijacked this thread for a second.

seeing sections of your body doesn't help much. Its more the overall proportions. And even if you're not an ectomorph, its more or less irrelevant in the context of the book. there's not non-ecto alternatives offered, and even if you're not, you can still add some serious mass without much fat doing the program.

yea I am my goal is the weigh 150 by january...
But funny story yesterday at the gym I am trying to do some weighted dips. This guy has the belt and he added 10 lbs to it, but get this he is taking away 10 lbs by using the dip assist maching. I was like WTF are you doing not really I just asked him to work in. He said he was using the dip assist machine to stabilize himself haha. When I loaded up 90lbs on the belt and did 6 reps (being a superset between dips and inclined swissball presses) the guy just left haha.

And I did the torso to should ratio in the book a couple of days ago and came out with 1.61 (optimum for muscle building being anything over 1.46) I think. So i guess i am not a full ectomorph like bulldog said

I'm something like a 1.2. Not good but what fun would that be.

But other than this I have no complaints about my gym, except the lack of a GHR and Sled but those are hard to findm and supposedly after they get a new squat rack the GHR is next in line. But after reading other peoples posts it is like wow. The trainers have people doing DL's, squats, benches, and other real excercise. For everyone even the women. And one of the trainers is an avid olympic lifter/coach.
