Red face

Hey everyone,

I'm new here and am very interested in toning up my body.

I have started exercising more hoping to tone my body and achieve a flat stomach. I exercise (on the stationary bicycle) for 40 min. 5 times per week. and muscle toning for 30 min. 4 times per week and have been doing so for one month and a half.

I am of regular weight for my size - I am 5"2 and weigh 105 pounds. However, I cannot seem to develop a beautifully toned flat stomach. I eat well, healthy, and snack little.

I realized my stomach gets bloated and increases in size after I eat. I also have a slight curve of my back (similar to Jennifer Lopez's but not as pronounced). Can this be the problem? What can I do to achieve a flat stomach?

Thank you,
Danielle

Welcome to the forum! Its hard to say without seeing what you look like, but from the sounds of it, you don't really have a problem. Do you have accessive bodyfat on your abdominal region? If not, it may just be an issue of your genetic shape.

As for fat burning, maybe your are not training with enough intesity, or perhaps you are doing too much cardio. Probably one of the most effective workouts you can do is Craig Ballyntine's Turbulence Training. Maybe he will chime in here with the appropriate links.

I doubt that the curve in your back is the cause... If anything, it sounds like a blessing, not a curse. Your weight sounds pretty good for your height. Either way, good luck with your program.
