Just wanted some comments on my bulking progress. The pics are taken about 8 weeks apart. First two pics I was 148lbs. Last two pics I am 158lbs. I don't think I put on too much body fat...you guys judge. I am gonna bulk till 165lbs, then cut to probabaly 160lbs. Thanks for any comments.

Hard to say, doesnt look like you're picking up much if any extra fat. Still impressive abs there. Get some full body posing ones (even if you draw the head out), hard to tell much with those pics as far as muscle growth goes.

You do look bigger in the second mirror pic, however you are closer to the mirror so...... I still think you've made some gains, but I agree with BJ, it's hard to tell.

Yea, I also agree it's hard to tell. But I guess the good thing is that I am 10lbs heavier and I don't look fatter...so it's gotta me muscle gains. I'll try and get some better pics. Thanks for the comments.

just my lil advise, dont look in the mirror, take a couple measurements and dont look or check the measurements for a couple of weeks. You will find it hard to notice any changes if you are always looking. I dont notice my changes but people will start to notice and make comments. Just my 2cents.

comment on your 10lbs gain...wheres your legs in the pictures? Easily could have gained mass in thighs, glutes, or less easily in the calves, which is awesome if you ask me. Hey, any weight you gain that is muscle is kick ass despite where it was gained.

Here's an online "test" for your body type.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/becker3.htm

By the way, you don't look so slim/ectomorphic to me. But, it's hard to know what you'd look like without working out.

I think a lot of people think they are ectomorphs because they don't gain the muscle they want, fast enough. But, they really never eat enough to get where they want.

They're also often comparing the way they look to body builders and thinking that they must be ectomorphs compared to them. But, what would those bodybuilders look like without the lifting? While they are usually mesomorphs, a "base level" mesomorph isn't that broad and buff looking.

Just my two cents...

Yeah and I'm not one of them. Asked my opinion, my opinion is he is ectomorph, and I do know what that means. I do keep track of my nutrition (caloric intake, macronutrients) to a T. And I don't compare myself to druggie oiled down apes. Just making that clear incase you were referencing me.

Actually no one in particular...

I just think a lot of those body types are a little subjective and based on where you are NOW. For instance, I might have been an endomorph before I lost the 65lbs. Now, I'd say I'm between a mesomorph and an ectomorph. Not just on how I look, but on a variety of factors.

So, what is my body type at the "root?" I don't think it actually changes. You just change your body shape and composition based on diet and exercise.

Agreed, ecto, ecto-meso, meso, meso-endo, endo, all pretty general guidelines but guidelines none the less. Are they really that important? I don't think so, just labels. It's important to note that they aren't just measures of muscle and fat mass but of bone structure as well.
