I'm in a cutting stage and I was wondering how much cardio do you invividuals do? duration? frequency? etc. just curious! thanks in advance.
also, I have been reading this board and there are some individuals that are adamant about cardio for fat loss. almost everywhere I read including text books say cardio is the way to go. any opinions?

Depends on your goal. You still burn fat while lifting weights...and ofcourse the factor of the diet.

So many ways to get lean...most people can't do it without proper nutrition.

But if your nutrition is great, you can get lean with or without cardio. Depends on many, many factors.

It is my preference to use interval training when someone is looking to get as lean as possible.

I feel my nutrition is fairly sound. I follow my diet from my collegiate days which worked really well (not this fad crap). so, interval training, why is this the best method?(just curious). I have talked to many individuals many indiviudals (body builders, fitness pros, novices, experts, read mags, read texts) and almost all recognize aerobic exercise as important.
why is interval training better? physiologically? and what intervals etc.?
thanks

I have a different philosophy on fat loss. It is summed up here:

Read what Craig linked you too, plus if you want, search around this forum for some of the arguements between Symbolic and Alwyn Cosgrove. Alwyn breaks out a ton of research in the posts, its kickass.

But neither would technically be necessary. Burn more calories than you consume and lift weights to keep up strength and cut down on muscle loss and the rest is just small details.
