I think I saw that in a thibedau article on t-nation as a recommended deltoid exercise.

saw a guy, for lack of better term, frog squat jumping with an olympic bar on his shoulders in the aerobics room. It looked pretty intense.

I see a couple of odd things in the gym. I'm a newb myself so I don't know if they are really odd/bad or not.

I see people get on the treadmill and crank the incline up to about 80 degrees and proceed to drape at least half of their body weight over the arm rests and/or console part.

I also have seen some ladies doing weird things in the hip abduction/adduction machines. They put maybe about 20 lbs weight on and then do these really rapid little half lift things, kind of like butterfly flaps. I have no idea if that is accomplishing some specific goal.

How about using deadlifting straps on the assisted chin-up machine? I haven't figured that one out yet.

We saw two boys laying in the leg curl machine to do neck extensions.

At my high school weight room there were probably four neck extension machines in the weight room. They were these goofy homebuilt contraptions that forced you in to an awkward range of motion, but by golly the coaches loved it, mostly because it resulted in pain.
