Default Pain under feet while doing calf exercises

So lately I've been trying to buff up my calves. I'm doing seated and standing calf raises supersetted with about 30-60 sec rest between. I do them single legged and I finish all of the supersets with one leg before I go to the next (so rest periods are low) 3 sets each exercise.

Before when I've worked my calves I have usually just done either seated or standing, and I've always felt it the most in the calves, but now I feel it under my feet. I know some of the deep posterior lower leg muscles have tendons that run and attach under the feet (right?) so I'm thinking that could be it. Still though, as I've never felt this before I'm wondering if it could be a bad thing? Am I doing something now that activates the deepest layer more? The pain comes as fatigue comes, the pain is not there from the start of the first set.

any ideas? am I just, for some reason, activating the deepest layer more? maybe because of the supersetting?

what is the point in working out the calves (other than making them look good and bulky)? I work out mine with sprinting and jogging. I think will hurt my running speed time if I try and weightrain my calves, so I never do any weightraining for the calves.

So, you feel it in the arch? heel?

do you have issues with flat feet?

and you're not talking something like feeling it in the balls of your feet from the pressure, right?

I can't help, but thought I'd ask to clarify…

I feel it mostly around the area under my 5th metatarsal (the bone before the pinky toe starts)

and no, it's not just the pressure. I don't have flat feet as far as I know..
