so about 2 months ago, i noticed just a touch of pain in my right knee when i was doing HIIT on a bike. didn't think much of it.

took a week off, iced it a couple of times, seemed okay. then went down to the field down from my house and was doing some sprints. halfway through my knee was killin' me. kept icing, then finally (stubornly, hey, we're all like that, just want to deny an injury and work through it, but i digress) went to the doc's. got some x-rays done, and found out i got a bipartite patella.

have been working lower body for about 3 weeks, and just icing, taking anti-inflamatory stuff and some stretching.

anyone else have this and run into any complications/pain?

You've probably had a bipartite patella for most of, if not all of your life, unless you once fractured it at some point. The presence of a bipartite patella does not necessarily mean its the cause of your knee pain.

I think we need more information about your pain. When does it happen outside of exercise, where on/in your knee, what activities aggrevate it, etc.

ya, that's kind of what i've been finding as i'm reading up on it. i'm fine with just walking around, doing normal everyday stuff, no pain at all. but, if i run, walk up or down stairs or anything that puts pressure on it without the support of my other leg (eg, doing king deadlifts), and jumping, i get the pain.
