Is this possible?

The time has come and I will be headed to the beach in about 2 weeks to get married. First off I want to thank everyone here for all the tremendous help in loosing body fat, over the last 8 months I have went from 33%BF down to 21%.

When I get back from Vacation I will be looking forward to building up a few areas that I feel need work, although I still have not reached my goal of around 12%BF. Basically I am looking at my fitness objective like this; I have about 4 months to add some mass (Sept. through Dec.) I have chosen these months for several reasons but mostly because I like to eat and this is the season to do so.

I am not looking forwarded to packing on a bunch more fat, and I have full intentions of eating clean during this period. My big question is, is it possible to keep my BF where it is and add good muscle in this time period? From reading these forums it appers that most people are as bulked as they want to get at around 21%BF, is this correct?

In addition to the above, I am mostly looking to add mass in my rear-droids and biceps, wouldn’t mind making the shoulders a bit larger but that’s about all. If oyu can recommend anything that you feel may help, please do!

Thanks Everyone!

Possible? yes. Hard to do? you bet. But for starters try reading this

and then look up Berardi's Massive Eating reloaded. In fact, to save you time here

This should help add mass with as little fat as possible. Good luck and congrats on the decrease in bf and in your upcoming wedding.

I think it may be a mistake to try to add any real mass when still at 21% body fat. The more fat you have, the more fat you'll tend to put on when bulking.

Appetite For Construction

A more sensible approach, since you sound like you sorta want a break, is to eat close to maint levels over the week. Keep your PWO nutrition good and maybe eat slightly larger meals in the 2-3 hours after lifting. This is when to have your carbs, too. On non-workout days, go a little lighter in the food dept., limit your carbs, etc.

I don't remember what "eating style" you settled into. Let us know. Maybe we can suggest something more specific.

As to people being as bulked as the want at 21%. Is that a typo? Do you mean 12%?

Forgot. In the link, go down to the 3rd Q&A.

Too Fat to go on a Mass Phase?

Q. You've written before that going on a mass phase isn't a good idea for a person who isn't already lean because this leads to rapid fat gain. So how lean should a person be before cranking up the calories?
