We have been debating on a football message board for my alma mater whether college football bench press numbers are inflated. (Not to mention the fact that they may also be useless when attempting to correlate with success on the field but that is a different topic).

For example, TCU claims that they have something like 20-25 players that can bench over 400 pounds. Yet I have read on the EliteFTS site that TCU "cheats" with these numbers and having that many players bench that amount is simply not true.

What do you folks think about this? Do they inflate the numbers for some reason? Just curious.

Thanks.

Cool

Probably somewhat inflated #'s (I would think...that would be just aabout every single lineman doing that weight..pretty strong..). Who knows though.....those horned frogs could be bench-pressin-fools over there.

Have seen reference before that Allen Hedrick @ Air Force Academy has had as many as 50 players power cleaning 300lbs or more in one year....now THAT's some serious shit!
