Hi,

I am trying to find the best workout program and have been having some difficulty. I am 37, 5'6 and 128 pounds. I have been working out, on and off, for 18 years. I did the muscle media contest 5 years ago and got great results. It didn't last that long.
I started taking private pilates instruction one month ago. I am doing one hour of pilates training 3 times per week. I absolutley love it. I am looking for a good training program that I can do, at my gym, in conjunction with this. It coould be on the same day, or on alternate days. Ideally, I would like to make my body more lean and defined. I am aslo doing cardio 3-4 times per week.
Any suggestions on a weight training program? A curcuit program would be great, if someone has a good one. One problem is that I can't do leg extensions, or any squats/lunges. Temporarily my doctor has restricted me. Almost every curcuit program, or training program that I find is comprised of a lot of these exercises.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Weezy -

I'm not one of the trainers on the site so I'm afraid I can't help you. the trainers that post here do so because they love to share their information. Be patient I'm sure one of the trainers will be with you as soon as they have a chance.

No expert here...but my advice is to EAT!!!

I am 41 years old; 5'7"; 150 lbs at about 12% body fat. I consider myself skinny at 150 pounds and you weigh less than me!!! Most people mistake me for a serious runner although I probably only run about 4 miles per week.

I too want to "lean" out and get more defined. But I don't plan on losing any weight to do that. The only way that I see to do it is to pack on the muscle. I'm hoping to eventually get up to about 160-165 pounds while reducing body fat to about 10%. I would think that you would want a similar goal if you want to "lean" out otherwise you will be what I call a "skinny fat" person.

Hi,
I eat 5-6 times per day. My diet is quite healthy, but I do have my cheat days. I honestly couldn't eat more, if I wanted to. I am not looking to lose weight, I would like to define what I have. At 128 pounds, I am definitely not too skinny. I guess that our bodies are just different.
Thanks for the feedback.

As, I think, are your genders? Weezy, are you female? It might make a difference in recommendations from the experts here - one of which I am not.

I was just thinking the same thing. Yes, I am female. I thank you for pointing that out.
