Question

Hi guys,

At age 47 I am determined to get fit again and would welcome any tips from other oldies or anyone who can offer sound advice to a dodgy old timer.

I worked out seriously until about 7 years ago.... 4-5 times a week, and ran regularly, but for the usual suspect excuses I got out of shape but would like to get started again.

Any advice would be welcome.

Regards,

Mike

Welcome Mike -

I'm not the expert on this board but I'm one of the older posters. What kind of shape are you in now? Weight? Height? Do you have any health problems? These are the questions the experts on this board will be asking.

I'm not big on spending a lot of time in gyms as you can guess by my web name, I like getting outside, getting on a bike, canoeing or hiking/running on trail. What is your motivation? What do you like doing?

Joe

Welcome, Mike! I may be second in line for the title of being the oldest participant here. I'm sneaking up on the BIG 5-0 in less than a month. However, I would repeat what outdoorboy asked... give us some more info about your current condition. There's no end to the journey toward "fitness" (until the ultimate end ) so tell us where you are now and where you want to go first.
