Effect of Diet on Training
I understand that training and diet are seperate events in that a given training style doesn't mandate a specific "diet". Last week I finished up the TNT workout program. While on TNT I used the Abs diet food plan. While I saw significant progress in weight loss and definition, I saw less in the area of growth. I'm sure most, if not all, of that can be attributed to eating at a caloric defecit (about 1500 - 1800/daily, at 6' and 173lbs).
My goal, after Christmas is to begin working on strength and growth - not to mention that little bit of losseness that still demands to still play a part in my waist line, albeit a very small part. So I obvioulsy have a three pronged plan.
To attack my goal I want to combine NROL with the TNT diet. I've never tried a low or very low carb plan, but the logic behind it seems sound or at least plausible enough, and verified by enough smart and experienced people, to give it a shot.
What I'm looking for is some insight, from those of you that have done this, into what I can expect. I guess my biggest fear is the loss of energy I could expect from zapping those carbs from my diet. I'm certain I will experience a loss of energy, in general, due to a heretofore reliance on carbs as fuel Can I also expect some strength atrophy, in the begining, that will have an effect on my NROL routine? I do a considerable amount of activity in a given week with Martial arts, yoga, and weight training. I may have one day, usually a Sunday where I am not doing some form of activity - so I want to have an idea how this upcoming venture will effect those things. I'm sure the payoff will be huge, but I like to have a lot of info going into something. To mitigate any strength loss I'll go back on a creatine cycle 5g a day, although I'm not sure how much that will offset any loss. On previous creatine off cycles I can tell a difference in my work product so I am assuming being on cycle will help me out. I just don't know.
Any insight I can get from you all would be great
Thanks
-Todd
