Default Break between TNT and NROL

I just Finished the TNT workout program, although I didn't use the diet - I'll start the diet after the first of the year. Between now and Christmas I really wont have a structured program, until I start NROL. In that event I thought I would throw something together to keep from getting rusty, during my downtime. Normally I would have martial arts classes but we have a lot of break time there as well. Anyway, I've seen some really good input and advice from you folks and I wanted to drop my break time workout on you and see what ya think, and what of where I could tweek if needed. I'll do this for the next couple weeks on M, W, F. I put it together so I could do it at home.

Jump rope - 1 min
rest - 1 min
==========
Chinupsx10
rest - 30 sec.

Pushups of various styles x10-15

==========
ab reps of various styles x20

Repreat 4-5 times

thanks for any and all input

I may alternate the ab sets with 18'" - 24" box jump sets (10 reps per)

You've been following a particular routine/program, and you will be soon moving into another one. Just have some fun and do some stuff! Mess around. You're sort of proposing that anyway.

To comment/suggest further: maybe try some different things; maybe look at NROL and just do a set or two of one or two of the exercises you will need to do just to get oriented with them and figure out your poundages.

If you do what you noted, throw in some other pull exercise and/or some full body (using legs, too; legwork is noticeable absent). Maybe dumbbell snatches. Maybe that's it! Do what you propose, but add in dumbbell snatches a couple of days a week. DB snatches are awesome! A month of those will be fun. Maybe drop the dips, since you've got the pushups in there. Or, alternate dips and db snatches every other workout.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input Chris - I've got some Kettelbells I can do snatches with. I thought I was a little lite on the legs with only box jumps - so I'll through some of those in.

You might like the Strength Cardio Sessions outlined in Robert Dos Remedios' book Men's Health Power Training. They are killer.

I'm jacked about coach Dos' power training. That will likely be my follow up to NROL. There is so much great stuff out there it's hard to pick "what's next". I've got power training on order.

Wow - That looks like fun James! Thanks for the link. I really like the wall burpees, especially with a push.

I just got to watching that. I liked the jump over burpee; good to work in some lateral movement. I'll throw those at a class this week; we'll use bodies in a high plank/pushup position instead of benches.
