Default getting lean & strong

Is there a way I can get stronger and leaner simultaneously? This question (worded a little different) was asked at the Hybridfitness forum.

Try this:
Reduce cals 5-10% below maintenance level. Perform a Max-Stim style workout. If you are not familiar with Max-Stim it is a method invented by Dan Moore. Recently I dropped 12-13 lbs while increasing my max strength. A basic description can be found here Arm Yourself for Gains http://workingout.menshealth.c om/. Dan Moore's question and answer here http://www.hypertrophy-specific.info/cgi-bin/ib314/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=2;t=15058 Every 7th day a 5 hr refeed, generally at the end of the day (be sure to ingest sufficient amount of carbs)

thanks,

Personally, when I train athletes or someone for performance or strength, and they need to lean out, I take a small deficit depending on how fat they are and make sure that it doesnt impair performance.

The training, cardio, and composition of the diet will be dependent on the type of sport being done.

For me its hard as my leverage gets worse as weight goes down. To be honest, if I ate cheeseburgers and nachos all day long and got to 300lbs, my squat would likely go up even if I sat on my ass and hardly trained it.

However, with weight loss, my deadlift went up (various other reasons involved too I suppose).
