I think I'm gonna try my hand(s) at a little kancho at the Summit. Looks like a good training tactic for developing speed and accuracy.

hmm… I've always heard it called something different, but now I totally can't remember what that was, so maybe I'm getting it mixed up with some other silly preverted japanese custom. Too much hentai, I guess.

Did somebody ask Mahler if he is planning to wear his 'assless chaps' at the Summit? After all, he is proud after deadlfiting a million pounds.

A break in your regularly scheduled heckling...

Would anyone be driving from around PA (or somewhere in between) that would want to drive/ride together?

I'm going to do my best to be there. No promises, it all depends on the training schedule, which I'll have a better grasp of in a month or so. I'll likely be driving from the Nashville area. I would love to carpool if anyone is interested.

Pretty positive that I am in. I need to double check on a couple of things, then work on getting flight booked and registered. I was bummed I missed last year, so I am looking forward to it.

I've thought about it......about 13 hours from here.

I had the same issue. Twenty hours of driving versus six hours of flying. I'll be flying unless someone(s) from around here want to pool a fifteen-passenger van so there can be sleeping in the back row.

I can't imagine doing the drive, even though we'd be on the way for you to carpool with, Celeste... sorry, but if we go (and I'm REALLY hoping we do!) then it'll be by air.

13 hours? Sounds like the flight you had a few years ago! How fast are you going to drive?

From Harrisburg it's about 1150 miles or so.

I'd forgotten about that awful trip. It was another time I swore never to fly again....but 80 mph or so would get me there in maybe 14 if I don't have to pee. I'll be checking flights. It may even be possible to get a direct out of BWI.

One word if you're coming from BWI: Southwest.

Questions:

#1. Is there a date we need to register by or be screwed?

#2. Is there a group number or something for the hotel?

kthxbai

oh, and like I'm totally not actually reserving flights this early in advance. If the summit were next month, it'd be 1/2 the price for a flight, and I'm sure only part of that is Jan v. May travel schedules versus just the typical mess of airlines liking to screw you big time if you have advance warning.

No, as the fact that our break even point is fairly low and should be easily achievable.

Nope. I'm making the reservations and providing a rooming list. Give me the mess instead of the hotel. That way, we don't have confused desk staff.

Honestly, flights right now are the cheapest that I have seen them in quite some time for May (at least on Southwest.) In terms of booking for the speakers, I'm getting while the oil prices are rock bottom.

Is there a deadline to reserve the hotel rooms? You want us to make reservations through you and not the actual hotel??? I'll need one room for me and H - BUT we're not 100% sure we're coming yet... partly waiting to hear on my job situation, etc etc...

Let me look at the contract fine print when I get a chance and I will get a deadline set up.

HOTEL RESERVATION DEADLINE: APRIL 10TH.

(I'll throw this in the original post as well)

I need to know if you need a hotel room by April 10, so I can notify the hotel so they can release the empty rooms to the public.

I'll need a room, but considering the state of the roommate thread recently, I think it might be prudent to have a room to myself.

This. I don't mind sharing with another person or five. I wasn't in my room except to shower and sleep, and even the sleep part can be in question depending on the festivities
