That sounds like a really good price. I've got to pick up a couple more 45's myself.

12 lbs? Never heard of that...I mean my POS bar right now even weighs in at 15 lbs. ...Oh man I can't wait to go get my weights.
By the way it said on one of the bars "international size" so I'm assuming that's the size most places use.

I measured my bar, 88". I've convinced my wife that it's 108" though.

Newlife is right...most accepted Oly bars (International) are approx. 7' (actually 86") and 45 lbs. Whats cool is some styles have the bushings (for 2" plates)that are removeable so standard 1" plates work. 2" is the diameter of the inner hole...I bought a set of Weider weights from Sears that have rubber coatings, almost as reasonable when caught on sale. I am trying to save the floor! By the way Bill, call my ex..she needs a man like you!

You can also put bumpers id guess you call em on standard bars so you can fit oly plates on em.

You should replace the bar that comes with that set as soon as possible. The bar is the most important part of the set and the bars that come with those Sears or Sports Authority sets are cheap Chinese made bars. Ivanko and Texas Power Bar both make excellent, fairly inexpensive bars.
