Default Polar watch that counts calories below 100bpm?

Does anyone know of a polar watch/ monitor that track calories burned as soon as it is put on, i cannot seem to find any which start counting below 100bpm. I also want one which just uses simple markers such as weight, height, sex, age etc rather than the more complex scientifc measures.

Thanks in advance

Kate

I've been looking over their products and it doesn't seem they list the sensor range. Have you tried contacting them?

Is anyone else old enough to remember when you could ask the salesperson at the store and actually get that kind of information?

Yes..... Exactly why i thought i'd ask some advice from people who may actually be able to help. Thanks for being so understanding... others obviously lack common courtesy.

You may need to contact the site. They might be able to help.

I have two HR monitors. An Omron and a Polar (transmitter only).

Both start reporting at 100bpm. I think it may be a standard.

Have emailed but waiting for a reply... think i may have to call them. I owned a polar before which did count before 100bpm, but as you previously mentioned it doesnt seem to mention this on any of the product descriptions for the new models... Think i'll give them a call now and see.

You could try Suunto. They seem to make nice gadgets and they are always trying to out do Polar.

Maybe I am wrong, but my F6 I thought tracked my calories no matter what the bpm were. I haven't used it in a couple months though.

The F6 definitely counts calories below 100BPM. The M32 for whatever reason does not. I noticed this change when I switched from the M32 to the F6.

Also have the F6. I didn't think it ever stopped counting calories as long as I'm recording an exercise session. If it does..it's news to me.

The RS200 also counts regardless of bpm.

My Polar F11 counts calories as soon as it is turned on. I've even worn it doing Yoga where my HR basically stayed in the 90's and low 100's during Sun Salutes and the Standing Pose Flow. It worked fine.

Thanks for the thread so I won't need to start one myself.

I've got another question.. is it worthwhile to get a preloved Polar or should I always go for new as I'll get a warranty that way?
If the latter, what's the lowest-priced Polar that does exactly what the OP is asking for = starting to record calories burned below 100bpm. My RR is on the low side & just walking can make me stay well below 100bpm.

OwncalS series starts counting at 90bpm.

Probably going be difficult to find what you want and still retain high accuracy, as the relationship between heart rate and calories expended tends to break down at heart rates below exercise induced rates and for most people that's probably going to be ~90-100.
