After going through the search, and doing some reading elsewhere (maybe I'm not putting in the right key words) I have yet to really see something that fits what I am looking for.

Background: I have never been one to exersize on a "regular" basis. I used to bike quite a bit when I was younger and have started back into it again.

I am just looking to get healthy right now and then maybe switch to some "building" programs.

I am 35 6'6" and 259lbs. My own thought is I am moderately healthy.

At the moment I ride 3 days a week on moderate rides about 15 miles. I walk 4 days a week on a tread switching between fat burn and cardio, using a heart rate monitor.

I guess what I am asking is, can you help lead me to some water. I need to figure out how to make a program between core exersizes, and my riding/walking. I want to make sure I am doing more good then harm. Can ANYONE help, or lead me to what I need to learn. I really want to get myself healthy again.

Thanks
Michael

Thank you for the info I do appreciate it.

So what do you do if you don't have a gym near by and are looking to do things at home?

If you have money, do what I did and build the gym of your dreams in your basement. It's not cheap, but it will last forever!

Have a look at Phase 1 of HGM . It is a good 8 week Phase that will start you in the right direction. If you like it contiue with the program, it is a good one. It starts off at a suitable level ajnd really helps you work into a tough routine.

Peter, thanks! This looks like a step in the right direction.

Newlife, money IS an option at the moment, but I can start slow with free weights at the moment working up to the Ultimate gym.

Thanks folks

If money is tight for the gym, focus on a good barbell and oly weight set. Then look for a quality adjustable incline/decline bench and a powercage.

HGM is great advice too, but I have not done it so I can't really comment on what you should expect.

Best of luck!
