For those of you who don't know me I am 20 year old business major (yawn). My favorite hobby by far is physical fitness of all sorts and health. Friends and family tell me I should do something along the lines of that field, so I was going to get my MBA and maybe some day work for a gym in the managing department or maybe even open one up myself some day. This suits me descent, but, I think it would be great to be a trainer, an "expert", work at a gym and with athletes. I was curious what type of college degrees the experts at this post went for and/or how they went about certification and just basic daily on the job type of info. Thanks guys I really appreciate the first hand advice.

On a side note, I think in past responses and posts on a few occasions I may have come across as stubborn and unwilling to learn, see this is only because...I...was...stubborn and unwilling to learn, I apologize to those experts (*coughcraigcough*) who I doubted or ridiculed out of hot headedness and frustration.

I have all my core classes out of the way, all the math history english etc type stuff and this is my first semester of intensive business study, i used to be pre-med but i decided i want a life and a family that i could actually spend time with. So i have some biology under my belt as well. All i know is the only reason i am in the business program is because i dont know where else to go, i think thats pretty common but...the people telling me life isnt just about making enough money you should be happy with what you are doing is starting to get to me.

rev,
i strongly agree with the whole be hapy with what you're doing thing. i'm a 19 year old guy who went away to college (Computer Information Systems) and hated it. personally, i'm too social to sit in a cubicle with a box all day even though i'm good at it. i came home from school and took a semester off (along with the summer to get myself together). right now i'm working at a child development center that is specifically for women trying to get back on their feet. anyway, i had an interview at a bank a couple weeks ago just to see what else is out there, and once i got to their offices (back end of the bank) i saw exactly what i had pictured myself hating in college...anyway, i didn't want the job and i am a strong believer that money can never bring happiness and that you've got to be happy with what you're doing. as Confucius said: "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life."

Rev,
If you are already close to graduating, just finish what you're doing first. With a degree you will be able to sit for the CSCS. Buy the manual and study your ass off. If you can pass that test, you will have a better perspective on your future. It certainly wouldn't suck to have a business degree and be an expert in fitness. I sure could have used some business training before I dove in.
