I'm Ali. I'm in high school, and I basically want to get fit. Here's my story, brief as possible while still containing what you probably would need to know:

I don't exercise. Really, I don't. There's some really nice canyons around, so sometimes we go hiking or rock climbing, but not much. To make my situation worse, I have been anorexic since at least age seven, probably earlier. When I realized it recently, I began to just have severely disordered eating. I'd eat literally next to nothing for a while. Then I'd start stuffing myself, four meals a day, at least. Truth told, it was really scary. Heaven knows why nobody noticed, but whatever. I'm pretty sure I can blame that for my always being cold and, more importantly, my pathetically weak lungs and heart. I run more than maybe six or seven yards and I start to get faint, and sometimes start to black out. That's getting better, now that I eat more and have gotten the habit of running everywhere I go, but keep in mind--I'm weak as a newborn kitten. Also keep in mind that I'm fine with any amount of exercise, as long as it's not long-distance running or biking up hills--my endurance is zero. Aside from that, I'm determined enough and want this badly enough that I think I can be counted on to work hard at it. ^^

Um, what else...? I'm 5'0" tall (yes, I know I'm short!) and weigh an average of 94 pounds, I think... I avoid the scale lately, for obvious reasons. I don't exercise regularly, but I've taken ballet and modern dance classes multiple times and loved it... We have a good PE program at school, we have fitness equipment and everything, but PE is a half-year class, and I have it second semester.

Guidelines: I can't go to a gym, that won't work for me right now. I don't have friends to work out with, so it needs to be solo things that you can do at home, without equipment (excepting weights, resistance band, etc. since I have that). I don't much like bulk body building, and I'm something of a loner, so I despise team sports. None of those. I'm a graceful person, so I do like things with a sense of grace, or at least purpose, to them. I like dancing, martial arts, and swimming (though I have a breathing problem there, as well as a slight allergy to chlorine).

On eating: I'm a singer, and partly because of that, I don't much like dairy, meats, and sugars. They make me sick, especially sugar and dairy, and they make it harder to sing, so I avoid them. I love fruits, veggies, and grains, though! So I eat very healthy. I just don't know how much to eat, how much is healthy. So any advice on nutrition and such would be greatly appreciated.

Um, that's just about everything. I really need advice on this. Thanks!

Ali,

It's very admirable that you are looking to turn your life around! Congratulations. While I cannot speak for the other and much wiser posters on this forum, I STRONGLY suggest you seek professional advice on this.

No one here can really judge what you and your body can and can't handle. Furthermore, I think only a few people here are adequately trained to deal with things like this, and even then, giving accurate advice via the internet it not really feasible.

Best of luck to you, and please let us know how do!
