Am I correct that the photos in your book show a medicine ball with rope? I don't have a roped ball, so will a regular ball (or weight plate, for that matter) work OK, or do you have another suggestion or alternative for this movement?
These next four weeks look like they're really going to be fun!
Dude I totally thought that this was going to be about some kickass pro-wrestling move! If I ever become a wrestler this is going to be my signature move. - Sorry for the hijack Chris.
To piggyback this if Chris doesn't mind, I am assuming the roped ball is a tornado ball or equivalent. I heard a lot about them a couple years ago but now nothing. Do any of you use these? Any worth to them?

That is hilarious!
I suppose russian twists or better yet full contact twists would work for rotational strength, but Im sure that tornado ball is a completely different feel. Ive seen it used, its wicked, never used it myself though.

Unfortunately, it costs as much. After just spending a few thousand out of pocket for a dojang relocation, I can't even afford new socks at the moment.

Sounds like you should make a new move called the "supine tornado chop" so that you can attract new students to help offset the costs

If you want to make your own Tornado Ball, do this:
Take a medium size basketball (not full size)and cut a small slit into it.Using a makeshift funnel out of a plastic 2-liter pop bottle, fill the ball with loose playground sand.Seal the hole you cut into the ball with some high-strength glue (I forget what I used).Let the glue dry for a day or two, then wrap the ball with a few layers of duct tape. Now go buy a basketball net.Put your hoem-made medicine ball inside and tie the end off. With the other end, wind it into a tight line and duct tape around it at the bottom to form a handle. Now you have a Tornado Ball.
I only use mine during the winter months when I can't get outside to do my sledgehammer work but I've beat mine against the ground as well as brick walls and it holds up fine.

Sounds great. I might miss the movement in one workout before I can throw one together, but I should be able to get it done in time for the workout after that. All I'll have to do is buy a net (or create an alternative).
I'd still like to know the next best alternative movement, however. Just in case . . . and just to know!
