Default Vacation workout questions

I'm going away on Saturday and I was wondering what kind of stuff I could do either in the hotel room or just outside on the beach. I know the obvious - different crunches, leg lifts, and push ups - but I don't really know what else to do to work out the shoulders, traps, and legs.

Any suggestions for what type of things I can do?

Thanks a lot

If it's a real vacation, how about just go have fun. You mentioned the beach so off the top of my head you have windsurfing, surfing, sailing, snorkeling, swimming, volleyball, etc...

Well of course I'm going to have fun, but I'm at a tough spot right now. I really can't afford the time off. I know that sounds stupid, but for me it's true.

Just looking for some suggestions on bodyweight exercises

Altho, I would argue that since you're on vacation if you do all the vacation sports you'll end up with a better workout

Probably a little to late this time around, but for future vacation advice, I take along a set of bands. Easy and compact to pack and they can be used for a hotel room workout to add resistance to all the basic moves like squats, deads, presses, rows, etc.

I'm with Mahler on this one. Lots of good suggestions from the others as well, but resistance bands or a cable "gym" will allow you to most closely mimic or simulate your current routine (assuming you're doing a free weight program of big basics). Sounds like you don't want to deviate too much from what you're doing now if you can help it.

When I travelled through Europe for a month, I took this http://www.lifelineusa.com/images/po..._gym_large.jpg with me and didn't skip a beat. It can be used for bar, dumbbell, and cable pulley type movements. (the bar breaks down to two pieces and the whole kit fit easily in my rucksack)

thanks guys. I'm on vacation now and I don't have any resistance straps or anything, but I'll try to use some workouts suggested. I had resistance straps left from physical therapy I've been to, but does anyone know a good site where I can buy more with different resistances that aren't expensive?
