Default Core Performance...

Hey everyone...I'll try and make it as a short as possible. I was wondering what the "Core Performance" book by Mark Verstegen (sp?) contains?!
Does it deal mainly with how to include core work into your workout or what exactly? thanks in advance

There's a whole program in there. It's mainly about building, strengthening, stabilization your core (hips, core, shoulders) and has plenty of prehab and whatnot. But there's regular execises and stuff, just sometimes things are done differently to challenge your stability more. Is a decent program. Helped me up my squat considerably, still use the shoulder prehab stuff for my crappy shoulders. Good program. Does that help at all?

Good book. I've have been using it on and off for about 2 years. Had good overall gains in agility and strength. It uses what some of the bigger name trainers are now going on about, mainly the inclusion of movement prep, agility, prehab, strength, energy system development and recovery/regeneration in a persons programme. I particularly like the way the programme is scheduled over a six day week.

It also helped me through a rough shoulder period.

A definite addition to your toolbox.

Agreed on the above. I used it as a natural full-body progression from some localized rehab I was doing. You won't see many visible gains from the program itself, but it will set the foundation for some better performances after the fact.

From a rehab professional standpoint, I think it is excellent. FWIW.
