Hmm... sounds like the start of a good joke, right?
Anyway, I'm thinking of starting the "Barely Legal" workout from Men's Fitness this weekend and one of the exercises is the "snatch grip barbell row." What is meant by a snatch grip? Does it just mean a wide grip?

I usually use the lines on the barbell as my guide. I set my index fingers outside of those and i'm usually good. It all depends on your body how wide. If i remember correctly, it's about 2x shoulderwidth.

Is there an official guideline of something like twice shoulder width? Or even wider?

Grab a bar and lift it up (upright row style) until your upper arms are 90 degrees with your body. Slide your hands out on the bar until the elbows are also @ 90 degrees. This is your starting point for the snatch.
less flexibile = go wider, more flexible = move the hands in a bit

Thanks dos! For me, that just about outside those lines. They actually do come in handy
