As far as I know, it wasn't designed as a routine. As I understand it, it was designed as an interesting and challenging benchmark or measure.
My opinion (worth <$0.02) - that is where it belongs. As an interesting benchmark or goal - but not as a plan or program.
I LOVE it! I made up my own fitness test that is 300 reps, but not the same exact weights and exercises, so I guess it's somewhere between the Original and the Beginners workouts. It's fun, quick, and a great way to measure your fitness... you can use it as a benchmark test.
(Obviously, there is no rest set up IN the workout, but some / most will have to rest (I don't think a lot of men can do 25 full ROM pull ups in a row?) to complete the full reps. So as for a beginner, I don't see why you couldn't do 50 bw squats and even 50 push ups; you can break them up and add them to the ends as well.)

Lisa is right - that is not a program, it's one workout meant as a test.
Look at the schedule section on http://www.gymjones for the type of work they do at the place the actors were trainer. It's interesting that Twight has gotten away from the random Crossfit approach and a little more towards specific aims - as in, *gasp* periodization! Who woulda thunk?

My thoughts are that it is good at making you tired
Yeah, or hurt if you use it as your "program."
Like LisaS and Kuri said, it's a benchmark test, not a program at all. It just got a lot of press because of the movie, but it's not even that great of a test IMO.

I agree, I did it a few times awhile back. 50 DLs? That's a sure way to end up in poor form and getting hurt.
But back to the original topic, at the end of the '300 Test' I was just tired and near puking one of the times. If that's what you want there are more effective ways to achieve that same feeling. For starters, try some 5 minute Jiu Jitsu rounds

Thanks, but Jiu Jitsu's not so much fun by yourself or with a sweaty partner that weighs 100lbs more than you do.
As it turns out, I did a modified version (to suit my abilities, or lack thereof) of this workout for 6 weeks. My recovery time and muscular endurance really went up, though it was tough mentally as well as physically to get through.
