This is from my training log.
I need to keep doing the little things that I know work well for me. Epson salt baths, TNS unit, static stretching, foam roller, sitting in my massage chair, and swiss ball work. I think I over complicate things sometimes for some strange reason and think I can get by without them or that I am better all of the sudden. Then I go balls to the wall and end up on the sideline from my own stupidity. Damn ego. I don't even know who I am trying to impress it is just me by my lonesome in the garage lifting. It is not like I have a cheerleading squat cheering me on to bench or squat 10 more pounds. I need to step back and realize that from time to time. If I just take 20 minutes out per day to do the above things than I think my quality of life would be much better.
Does anybody else over complicate things like this and get away from what you know works for one reason or another? It is like I know in my head what works for my back pain but I get in the mindset that I haven't hurt in a couple of days so I must be better. I then proceed to try to max out deadlifts or do some strech with a back massager on and have to take a week off. It is the little things that I need to focus back on. Thoughts?

I have a problem similar that a lot of guys do... It's "I still feel the need to do curls sometimes syndrome" I should spend that time doing intervals... or shoulder pre-hab which I almost always skip out on... but here come the hammer curls instead..crap..

You know what I am talking about for sure. Instead of doing those 300+ pound deadlifts I should be working on my back rehab. Glad I am not the only one. I am now off to do some streching and on the road to recovery while leaving my ego and the part of my brain that wants to over do it at the door!!

I haven't been on my foam roll in over two weeks. Nor have I done my shoulder work. Guilty.
