Mahler’s Monday Morning Motivator # 52 – What’s Love got to do with it?

Good Morning, Guys,
I am sorry this is a little late, but I seem to be playing catch up this morning.
Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you all have something planned for that special person in your lives. I took my wife to a getaway weekend Friday through Sunday with a very special dinner on Saturday night. A bracelet, roses, caviar and Chateau Briande! How could I miss? Well, she had a cold but, it was a great weekend nonetheless. I got a chance to workout on Saturday morning at the hotel fitness center and promptly renewed my hatred for the Smith Machine.

I seemed to be the only one seriously working out. When I warmed up with some T-Pushups, I felt like all eyes were on me and not in an admiring way. More like, who the hell is that oddball? However, later in my workout a high school football player asked for some help with his bench presses. Otherwise, no one was doing anything that looked even remotely challenging. How sad. I did a general full body routine including bench, squats, deads, etc. With the exception of the bench presses, I am sure I looked like the man from Mars to most. I guess that hotel fitness centers are not a hotbed of challenging routines. Usually the joggers are there on the treadmills and the rest of the equipment is used to satisfy the curiosity of those who don’t really workout as a habit.

Well, with that said, here are a few words appropriate to the day from the writings of Paul the Apostle in his letter to the Corinthians.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

What's love got to do with it?
Everything!
Have a great week my friends.

Thanks, as always. Great stuff. I can just imagine the hotel gym when the IMLOD walks in....too funny.

I think you want to think about your comma placement....
