To the BoM vets/pros out there (that have the logs handy):

So I'm looking at the log for Advanced, Stage 3, Weeks 18-20, Workout B.

Exercises 6-10 are a series of bench presses and bent-over rows that are broken up into three groups, each labeled "Wave Sets, Alternated, with Full Recovery Between Sets." Usually (in BoM) a group labeled as alternated sets consists of two diffrent exercises with similar rep schemes, but not here. In fact, the second only has one exercise listed.

Am I missing something here, or might Ian/Lou mean:

One alternated set:
exercise 5
exercise 8
exercise 6
exercise 9
exercise 7
exercise 10

Or a series of three alternated sets:
Set 1
exercise 5 & 8
Set 2
exercise 6 & 9
Set 3
exercise 7 & 10

Either one of these make a little more sense to me, and both still fit the overall scheme of this particular three-week workout.

Thanks,

The wording is a little cofusing. The routine only calls for a single sets of:
7 - Eccentric Bench to lower chest.
8 - Eccentric Dumbbell bent over row
9 - Barbell Bench Press
10 - Barbell Bent over row

While the previous sets were wave sets, these are not wave sets.
The instructions say "Alternated With Full Recovery Between Sets."
You would do this more like a circuit, but with the full recovery between the exercises.
So your workout would look like this:
Straight Sets
Exercise 1
Exercise 2
Exercise 3
Exercise 4
- - - - -
Wave Sets Alternated
Exercise 5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6 (includes warmup sets)
- - - - -
Alternated Sets (The alternated refers to the fact that you go from bench to row)
Exercise 7
Exercise 8
Exercise 9
Exercise 10

Aha! It is not the wording that is confusing, but the numbers that are different! I don't have my book handy, but my electronic logs (both pdf and excel) list the exercises differently. I've got:

5 - BB Bench Press: low chest, arched back, (3 warmup and 4 wave)
6 - Eccentric BB Bench Press: low chest, arched back (1 set)
7 - BB Bench Press (1 back off set)
8 - BB Bent-over Row: Low Bar (3 warmup and 4 wave)
9 - Eccentric DB 1-arm Row (1 set)
10 - BB Bent-over Row (1 back off set)

I'm pretty sure my book says the same thing. With your log, this ends up being equivalent to the first suggestion in my original post. Just out of curiousity, what "version" are you logs? Mine are dated 830 PM 19 October 2003.

Thanks again Mahler,
