Chiropractors crack joints all the time. It must be safe if they're allowed to get away with charging money for it.

I prefer a DO (doctor of osteopathy) instead of a chiro. Gentler. Not all of them are trained for it anymore though so you have to search around for one who knows the osteopathic manipulations.
Wouldn't know how to tell you to do it yourself, not sure that's possible or desirable.

I can crack my back by myself
Some favorite methods
scorpians
hanging from a pullup bar bringing legs up to 90 degrees and twisting back and forth
Pushing up against my desk at school
having people walk on my back
Im a poor teenager so I cant really pay for someone to crack my back :-p

Some of your methods may come back to haunt you when you're old (like me)...

A chiro friend of mine almost had a stroke when he saw my son cracking his neck. I think that the twisting was what he objected to the most.

This is what I do:
Lay on back. Allow petite girlfriend to step on your back as you say "aaahhh".

Have someone that knows what they are doing do it. Do not do it yourself. I have asked chiropractors before if they adjust themselves and their answer was "no, they have someone else do it". Doing it yourself is dangerous and it is not very hard to do the wrong thing. If you do it yourself and do it wrong (accidents do happen), you will not be happy. Even chiropractors don't adjust themselves.
I don't even think cracking knuckles is healthy either.
We all wish that we can be able to adjust ourselves instead of having to be adjusted by others, but it does not work that way. I don't think its even possible, right?

I try to give myself adjustments from time to time, but always ending up skipping that part and going straight to the happy ending. Maybe one day when I'm old I'll be more patient...

You lay on your back and have someone walk on it? Quite impossible I think...

LMAO!
I usually need a good crack when I'm in bed getting ready for bed. What I do at that point is lay on my stomach and twist one leg backwards twisting my hips...Boy does that feel good when you're going to bed...

RedLefty doesn't get that involved in it. His default "get on, get in, get off, get out" mindset makes it a quick rub-and-tug, kthxbye.
