Default The Abs Diet For Size?!

Hey everyone. Now, I know this might piss a few people off. I've started a thread yesterday about me starting today. However, I was wondering if being able to use "The Abs Diet" nutrition principles for gaining size. Of course, I'll increase my portions and intakes and such. But I need a good place to know where I should start eating. Something that I can hold in my hands always. A few of you told me it wouldn't work, but I wanted to know tha majority's opinion. Thanks

In the dining room.

Step one = Calorie Surplus (More than you're eating now assuming that you're not currently gaining weight)
Step two = Enough protein. Variety of sources spread out over 3+ meals a day
Step three = Lift heavy things

The plan doesn't really matter. Get enough protein and eat enough to gain weight. If you're not gaining weight then you're not eating enough....eat more...it doesn't matter what or when. If you "can't" eat more...suck it up and eat more.

It seems like an odd choice to pick to gain weight, but it is designed around healthy foods. Are you on the Abs Diet to lose fat and now about to switch over to trying to gain?

If you're going from nothing to the Abs Diet (and tweaking it to gain) then you might be making it hard on yourself (although it's healthy foods, so I get that).

I have the book, and it's obviously designed to keep calories down so you lose weight. If uses portion control and food selection to encourage eating light. Those foods are supposed to be more filling than those in the typical western diet. If you eat those same foods in higher amounts, you'll gain weight.

Well yeah, I've always been skinny. So I'm going from nothing to the Abs Diet. The reason I'm doing this is that I'm trying to find a way to start eating without the need to count calories and I need a clear view about what's actually healthy and what's not. I just feel sluggish and tired and out of energy all day long and I hope with this diet and an increase in food intake I can have more energy for college and the gym. Also, another one of the reasons is trying to keep fat gain to a minimum.

You're choosing a diet that's designed to make fat people skinny and not have them counting calories. That's not the diet to base a bulking plan on unless you're planning to really change it around.

Nothing against healthy food, of course, but at least make a log of what you eat now (not necessarily calories) and work on eating more food. If you're just not eating often enough and enough food, you'll have to find a way.

Hmm, ok...I see what you're saying. I've also been reading this interview with Matt Perryman or PMDL and I've heard what he said about skinny people NEEDING to gain weight. It's starting to go through my thick skull now.
One more question though...What do you think about a gallon of milk a day??

If that helps you get in the calories and protein you need, it's probably good.
