The program wasn't designed to be sustainable and neither were the results. There's a possibility that someone will change their life when they change their body, but for the most part people are picking the short term answer because they lack the willpower for a long term solution (otherwise they would already be where they wanted). It seems and is marketed like a method of peaking for a particular date. You'll look pretty decent for a week...after that you're probably screwed
Talkin' to me?
I agree with all that, I just don't understand what I'm probably saying.

Well, count me in the camp that DOES have willpower. I've been SPOT ON since January 1 with TNT and training. WSFL is just going to help me with those last few pounds. Trust me, I have TONS of willpower!

Jane, you will be the "poster child" (and probably the exception) to this or any plan. We are all watching you with interest because you will show the possibilities.
LD> They will "probably" gain the weight back. It's not a flaw in the program. It's just not reasonable to expect a person (that isn't pretty hot stuff to begin with) to eat at a massive deficit and train themselves into the ground for a month to not fall off the wagon pretty hard.
MJ> That's very possible. Do you consider yourself the norm or the exception?

In my first comment, I had a whole thing typed up about 95% of diets leading to failure anyway. It's rarely the diet, it's the person's will to diet.
Will the average guy off the street gain it back. Probably. You're right.
Will the average guy who's already been successfully and consistantly dieting for a good amount of time gain it back after using this diet? Probably not. They've already passed the test of whether they have the will to diet or not.
has anyone here successfully lost AND maintained for over a year (while training had) following a low-carb plan?
I have. Although I've changed things around quite a bit over the past five years, in the past two years, I've been primarily low carb when I try to lose fat.
Maintenance is easy for me. I can do it without a problem. I've sort of maintained for almost a year now, having started with my dieting about five years ago. I workout a lot and pretty hard, too. I have no energy issues, either.
Personally, I don't think it has much to do with being low carb, though. That's just the eating style that I find satisfying, healthy, and convenient. Anyone who wants to maintain should be able to find a diet that they can stick with But they have to want to maintain. Just like anyone can lose if they want to.
Well, I've reached the halfway point, and I feel like I've hit a wall. Not sure if it is the monotony of the program, the stubborness of my body to lose a little more fat, the temptations of the holiday weekend and awesome weather, or a combination of all of the above.
Bodyweight and bodyfat have stayed the same the past 3 days. I took my off day yesterday because I had to get the house ready for a cookout. So I did my cardio today and my legs were heavy and tired at the beginning, and sore at the end. I really worked my legs hard in Friday's circuit workout.
It was extremely hard to stay committed to the diet at my cookout. All in all, I did good. I didn't eat much thru the day, and then in the evening, I had three hamburger patties, no bread, and some shrimp--I at least avoided the carbs. And I didn't drink any, which was very tough when playing cornhole and sitting around the fire!
I am not looking forward to 2 more weeks of the same routine--I wish there was a change-up at least in the workout for weeks 3 and 4.
I will post pics and bodyfat measurements tomorrow so everyone can judge for themselves if there has been any progress.
I started low carbing about 5 years ago - have never looked back - have never gone off plan, although plan has changed from time to time. I have also been weightlifting the whole time, although I did some pretty lame programs for the first couple years. Still better than nothing.
What is the best way to come out of this plan and still maintain the loss and not gain any pounds/fat? thanks.
slowly. Do something like Atkin's carb tolerance phase. You add just a LITTLE to what you already are eating, and see at what point you quit losing and start gaining. Another key is coming up with your own 'cook book' of foods, including things that have become your new comfort foods.

I am looking at TNT. I may switch over to that. I don't really mind the diet, just the counting and weighing.

Alright after debating for several weeks I finally bought WS..I was mainly afraid of the extremness of this program and the longetivity of the results..but I have not budged a pound for the last 6 months (looking for fat loss not weight loss actually) so I think I will give this a go and then look into afterburn or TNT...I will check both out..
However, as anxious as I am to get my hands on the program and get into the members area for the added meal plans for low weights, I did not get a download link and its been 12 hours that I emailed cust serv and have not heard from them..What do I do? I need to go grocery shopping tom..any ideas? thanks.
Alright, halfway point update. Lost another pound--that's 5 pounds since starting the program 2 weeks ago, 11 pounds overall in the last 4 weeks. I had my wife do skinfold tests 2 weeks ago and then again tonight, but the results are totally conflicting--she is not very experienced or serious about testing me, so the results are not reliable. The digital scale with body fast tester says I have lost 4% bodyfat, tho I am not sure how reliable that is either.
So here are pics that I took 3 days prior to starting the program, and then pics taken today. These pics are after losing 7 of the 11 pounds. Sorry about the xtra-large size of the pics! Comments on progress--good or bad--are appreciated. Personally, I see only a little bit of progress, mostly chest and upper back. I figured losing 7 pounds would look a little better.....

Same issue here, but they responded pretty quickly to both of my emails. Just as Miss Jane said they would.
MJ, how is your training going? I have yet to start and am wondering if this is truly a right step for me. Guess I'll find out at the end of the 28 days, eh?!!

I feel great, have high energy, the workouts are great. I am 100% with the food and I am getting more carbs than I did for the last 5 months on TNT. Tomorrow morning will be my first week weigh-in, and I'll report in. So far, 2.5 lbs.
