I'm doing the Indianapolis Marathon tomorrow morning. If you're in the area, the race starts at 8am at Fort Ben Harrison, and s a really nice course (it goes through a state park).

Best of luck, km. Let us know how you do and post some pics of you crossing that finish line ...

You're probably 7-8 miles into the thing by now, but best of luck. I'm shooting for next year for my first. Can't wait to hear about your experience.
edit: I just realized that you're probably in the central time zone so may not have started yet, regardless, good luck.

I ended up finishing in 3:34:06, an average 8:11 pace. I missed my goal (those last six miles SUCKED.) There's much that I need to do to catch up on the weekend, but I'll give a race report when I get time.
But what really gets me is, if I had done the half-marathon I almost surely would've gotten top three in my age division and added to my coffee cup prize collection! (sigh)

km, congrats on finishing the marathon. I know you are disappointed in not meeting your goal, but, man, you've done something that many (myself included) only dream of. Nice going. As for the half-marathon, what you did is strive for something tougher rather than taking the easier path. That's admirable. Way to go, man!

Good Job! Can't wait for more details. But know that those last miles could have been more painful. The last 3-4 miles slowed me down about an hour during my marathon years and years ago.
Congrats on finishing! That alone is something I'll never even be able to dream of doing. Don't beat yourself up over the details, there's always the next marathon!
Congratulations!! That's quite an accomplishment. Can't wait to read more about it.

I absolutely agree with K-Court there and he said it perfectly.
and for the results.. just remember.. what makes a champion, is not how they win but how they react to defeat (or less than perfect performances) . You'll just have to try again. But it's not over.
and congrats on getting through the last 6 miles, many wouldn't get through the first 6!
I'am looking forword to reading your account of the run. : )
