Default "Off" Training Days

Just curious as to what everyone does on the days they are not working out with high intensity (other forms of cardio, etc.). If anyone out there is like me (and Lord help you if you are haha) having a day off of high intensity just sucks... even though its physiologically important. Just thought I'd ask, I'm looking for something to fill the gap and pointless running just isn't my thing personally.

I have a hard time with these days, but family obligations usually prevents from getting too carried away.

I'll usually do cardio or abs if I am going too insane from being away from the gym.

I'd try to find something like bike riding, hiking, basketball, etc.

I'm planning on playing some tennis now that the weather is getting nice. Or going for a walk with my wife.

X 2. Its called an 'off day' for a reason.

My off day is almost always a Sunday, possibly Saturday, so I eat as much as possible and watch baseball or hockey ALL day. If you work out with intensity throughout the week this is a deserved day to do nothing.

Some people can't handle not doing anything though, which I understand. Thats where the idea of 'active recovery' comes in, and makes total sense. I'm thinking of placing a day like that in the middle of my 5-6 day stretch.

I agree with you there Steer... I honestly just hate to not to "anything" on my days off, but after doing hypertrophy for a fews days I think I could get used to it haha. I've been keeping my off days to just bodyweight type exercises just to keep me sane and shut my willpower up.

Nope. I don't seem to have a problem with that. Maybe take up hiking.
