I was wondering if anybody can give me some exercises for my legs. I have a muscle imbalance and looking for ways to help strengthen the weaker muscles. I have ankle weights, and thats what I am looking to use to help stregthen them. I'm not talking about squats deadlifts.. ect. I was told to lie back on the ground with the ankle weights and do 1 legged raises. Anyothers? any help is appreciated

What do you mean by a muscle imbalance?

There are all sorts of bodyweight and "one legged" exercises you can do to help with imbalances. One legged squats, one legged deadlifts, step-ups, etc.

Why did you specifically point out squats and deads as things you don't want to do?

Doing leg ups with ankle weights is a hip flexor exercise and won't do much for you leg muscles.

Not sure what you are really looking for.

I totally agree with Lost Dog. I think the very best way to bring up lagging parts is to hit them more intensly and something about your post makes me think you want to avoid that. Hope I'm just reading that wrong????
One legged squats, deads, best advice you'll get.

Oh and Matt Shuebrook.... your post/spam just insured that I will never visit your site.
Spam alert, spam alert.... let the fun begin. It's just so's real character that you post your spam in a legitiment question and not your own thread. Real gentleman of you.

Sorry about that. To verify what i meant... I just had surgery on my knee. So I am not able to do such compound excersies as a squat or deadlift. Im looking to slowly build back up to those exercises by doing more simple exercies such as leg raises. Muscle Imbalanace: one part of my leg(outside) is much stronger than the other which creates tension on my leg, therefore im looking to improve the muscle imbalance(improve inner part of leg) by these exercises.

Plate drags-place a plate on the ground and drag it with your foot. in this case, as you're trying to build strength in your inner leg, drag it with the inside of your foot, across your body.

My best suggestion is to post this question in the injuries/rehab section of this site since you are just coming off of surgery. I'm sure Bill H. can offer you some suggestions.

This is Matt Shuebrook. Who everyone is labeling as the "spammer". If you watch the posts that have come out using my name. They are not me.
Who ever is doing this... have fun. For those blessed are those "persecuted for rightousness sake."
By me putting Christian owned and operated is to show that I give Jesus Christ all the glory for my success. Not to guilt people into spending money. I would never use God, as if anyone could?
For the person who crakced on my traffic... the site is pretty new.
I think if everybody would focus their time minding their own business, then you will find you are to busy to worry about mine and how im living. Are you the personal training police? Am I really doing anything illegal by advertising on my site and telling all the trainers at Jp about fitness generator? I thought the theme of this site was to help other trainers not diminish them!
Well I guess maybe i was wrong or there are just a few "rotten trainers in here"
Either way this is the truth. I DONT SPAM. So please stop labeling me as a SPAMMER.

Holy hell. The Spammer lives!

If you would have given some advice and not advertised your site, you might have gotten treated a little better.

And you are using God. Right there in your last post. Making us feel guilty because it's a Christian site.

Matt

You haven't given any advice yet that I know of. You want to be treated different than a spammer you're going to have to contribute to the forum vs advertise your site.

Must agree Matt, I think you're a spammer. And at JP Fitness, we don't just ban spammers, we play with them. My rules are clearly stated, and I make a point in my initial greeting via PM that you'd best check out what we do to spammers before you decide to promote your business without my permission. You obviously ignored that little warning.

The proper response to the initial post would have been to address his problem specifically. You just completely ignored what the poster was saying and put in a plug for your business, and typed another post that said the same thing (which ended up in the spam forum if you want to go check it out). That is spam. If you spam a site, you are by definition, a spammer.

The thing that irks me is that you didn't ask for permission. Had you asked I would have told you no, but I would have also told you to put your web site in your sig line, and then, when you give supposedely good advice to people, your knowledge would speak for itself, and people would naturally want to go check out who you are.

I was a start-up site at one point too. I first built this site in 1996, and then I started up this forum, on which I have worked countless hours for three years to build it up to what it is, and I don't appreciate people who don't appreciate that, who think that they can just come in here and lure my loyal posters to their own site. Those trainers who actually help others in here don't have to promote themselves because I will do it for them. Next time just show a little consideration.

As for your Christian status, religiosity is a major turn-off to me, but hey, its your business so do what you want. I know a lot of successful Christian business people, but they don't feel the need to remind people (especially in their marketing) that they are Christians. A tacky ploy at best. I wouldn't have even cared if you hadn't spammed my site, but when you do that you are opening yourself up to all sorts of critisicm.

Take this as a lesson as you go out into the other forums.

You tell him JP! That is what really irritated me. He didnt even have the courtesy to offer some type of advice to the original poster. Just jumped in both feet spamming away attempting to hijack the thread. Let him and others beware... this little community is very protective of this site and our members.

Hello Jp and room,
If i spammed I am sorry.
i will start sharing my knowledge of fitness with you guys.
The reason I am making oa point of letting people know that The Lord is the reason for my success.. is too many people say their Christians but don't give god glory for their success. I want people to know that He gets all the Glory. How else can I show this on my page???
And by the God said shine you light unto men, that others may see it. This is who I am, if you met me in person, I talk about God and how glorious he is. So I type like I talk.

But as I first said, I am sorry for spamming. Look foraward to sharing fitness with you all later.

Peace and GOD BLESS

Thank you, Matt. I accept your apology, and I will change your title later on today.

As for the rest of your post, responding in here would further hijack this thread so I recommend that we carry this down to the Current Events forum at the very bottom of the main page. You will find several topics about christianity being discussed, and I am sure that with you passion you will want to weigh in on them.
