Default Help! Wedding Countdown and I want to tone my arms.

I am looking for some advise on how to get my arms really toned, but without adding volume. I don't want to look muscular at all, just really trim and toned. I'm getting married in October, and I want my arms to look awesome in my strapless dress. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I highly doubt in 6 months time as a woman you're somehow gonna get looking "muscular."

Pushups, pullups would prolly do you wonders. Get your back and shoulders working too for that dress. If you can't do them, variations on them would work. Inclines of both to start and move closer to floor/upright as your ability increases.

what about the program you are advertising in your sig line? maybe they have a truth about arms program too - since the other one is working really good for you.

Get your diet in check and get strict with it.

Good point. What's the diet look like? Stay away from isolation exercises like bicep curls and direct tricep work. When you do full body compound movements the smaller muscles have only one option: to follow. Pushups, dips, bench press with relative weight, pullups and squats are your best friends right now. Get to know them.

My fiance is in the same boat. Marrying in July. A steady diet of chins (or pulldowns) and dips, benches and basically everything everyone else has said is "toning" her up nicely. Those great exercises also huge calorie burners and muscle builders so works nicely.

You still have plenty of time. Don't do anything crash diet wise.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I see now that my focus needs to be about losing the fat as well as toning the muscle underneath. So, I'm definitely going to be doing lots of push-up, pull-ups, lunges and squats for the mild strenth training. I'll continue to jog and diet like crazy for the weight loss. I think I'll get to where I want to be in no time. The truth is that I don't really have 6 months because I've got the dress-fitting in 4 months, but I don't have too far to go. Anyway, thanks for all the tips. Very helpful!

I hope that "diet like crazy" means keeping your caloric and macronutrient intake moderate, not extremely low.

Chins and dips rock, as do bench dips, lateral shoulder raises, anterior shoulder raises, shoulder presses, tricep extensions, tricep press, etc.

+1... the "mild" strength training, amped up a few notches, would be more beneficial than the running.

Diet is still the most important ingredient though (pun intended)
