Default heavy bag training for fatloss

I'm looking to incorporate some heavy bag training for fat loss into my training..

I purchased a used heavy bag (75 lb) and am now thinking, ok besides hitting it now what

Could someone steer me in the right direction as to where to get some free online training workouts? Especially for fatloss... I'm not looking to be a boxer or anything but would love to incorporate it into my routine.

Classify me as a beginner in this area..

Thanks

Mark

check out rosstraining.com There are tons of articles and a forum with that sort of info.

His products are really good, too.

Work on a variety of stuff. Do different punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and so on.

Some good examples are to work in rounds such as striking for 1-5 minutes, resting one, etc or a certain number of strikes.

One word of caution: I would invest in some wraps and gloves. I see a lot of new punchers hurt themselves by hitting a heavy bag hard with unwrapped wrists.

Do check out rosstraining. He does a great job with training info, and it's tailored towards boxing/fighting. There's a lot of cool bag training info and other stuff.

Further to the recommnedation of wraps and gloves, I would suggest that you learn correct punching technique. You can still damage yourself with gloves on if you do not have the correct technique.

! do a lot of bag work at the gym on Saturday mornings and it is a fantastic workout.......much more difficult than i anticipated!

I back up what JTM says, heavy bags can leave you with injuries if you do not know how to use them properly. Pop into a boxing gym or a martial arts centre and learn the besic punches, knees and kicks.
